On 18 November 2025, Energy Efficiency for Europe participated in REHVA’s Brussels Summit 2025, contributing the perspective of Energy Service Companies (ESCOs) to the panel “Bridging the Gap: Financing for Affordable and Smart Renovation”. Energy Efficiency for Europe’s Head of Policy, Eline Blanchard, joined the panel to examine the challenges and opportunities shaping Europe’s renovation agenda.
The discussion focused on bottlenecks in renovation financing, as well as examining solutions for renovation massification across Europe. Speakers underlined that regulatory stability and consistent public funding remain essential to achieving such large-scale renovation and advancing the EU’s climate and energy objectives.
During the panel, Eline highlighted the central role ESCOs play in facilitating energy-efficient renovation and supporting the clean energy transition. She emphasised how ESCOs guarantee energy and CO₂ performance through energy management solutions such as Energy Performance Contracting (EnPCs), and help unlock efficiency gains across buildings and industry. Eline also stressed the importance of stable public financing to trigger private investment, echoing the shared call for predictable regulatory and funding frameworks as prerequisites for scaling up energy efficiency and renovation projects.
REHVA’s Summit provided an important platform for dialogue between policymakers, financial institutions, and technology providers on how to accelerate Europe’s renovation wave. Energy Efficiency for Europe remains committed to advancing effective, performance-driven solutions that support a resilient and climate-neutral EU building sector.
