On 5 May, Energy Efficiency for Europe’s Secretary General, Valérie Plainemaison, participated in the Second General Assembly of the European Energy Efficiency Financing (EEEFIN) Coalition, hosted by Energy and Housing Commissioner Dan Jørgensen. Gathering representatives from EU institutions, Member States, financial institutions and industry, the Assembly focused on the Coalition’s priorities and activities for 2026, as well as its contribution to supporting Europe’s energy transition and competitiveness agenda.
Valérie also took part in the accompanying workshop on the future priorities of the Coalition, contributing to discussions on how financing frameworks can better support the deployment of energy efficiency investments across Europe.

The following day, on 6 May, Valérie attended the Clean Energy Transition Investment Forum (CETIF) 2026, organised in collaboration with the EEEFIN Coalition and the EU Covenant of Mayors to showcase practical projects, financing mechanisms and contractual models supporting the clean energy transition across sectors ranging from buildings to industry.
Discussions highlighted the Commission’s continued focus on mobilising both public and private investment for the energy transition, with energy efficiency and electrification repeatedly presented as complementary and mutually reinforcing priorities. Building on this theme, dedicated sessions on Energy Service Companies (ESCOs) presented innovative financing approaches and practical examples from across Europe, demonstrating how tailored financial instruments and Energy Performance Contracts (EnPCs) can help turn policy ambition into bankable projects and large-scale implementation.
