Energy Efficiency for Europe welcomed members from across its European network to Brussels on 15 June 2026 for ac members’ meeting, providing an opportunity to exchange views on the key files shaping EU energy efficiency policy.
The agenda covered the latest developments relating to the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS), the forthcoming Electrification Action Plan and the next steps for heating and cooling, alongside an internal workshop exploring Energy Efficiency for Europe’s priorities for the post-2030 energy efficiency and renewable energy frameworks.
Out of all the rich discussions that emerged throughout the day, one outstanding priority was that regulatory stability should remain a priority, with our members expressing a strong preference against reopening the Fit for 55 legislative framework. Instead, they called for the EU Commission’s focus to remain on the effective implementation of the existing legislation whilst preparing the next phase of energy policy.
